Day 48 & 49 - October 1 & 2, 2011

October 1 - I had a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch for breakfast.  For lunch I was going to have some leftover skillet lasagna, but the noodles were like mush.  So I threw that away.  Instead I had a turkey and ham sandwich on wheat bread with a slice of colby jack cheese, 2 sandwich stacker pickles and mustard.  For dinner I was really craving tacos, so I made some. =)  I used lean ground beef and added some carne asada seasoning to it.  I used gordita tortillas and put fresh cotija cheese and Ortega taco sauce on my tacos. I had 1 1/2 tacos.  My husband and I watched Bridesmaids tonight and it was hilarious!  My husband even liked it.  I would definitely watch it again.  If you haven't seen it you should check it out. =)  I didn't do any exercise again today.

October 2 - This morning I had a Slimfast Meal Bar for breakfast.  Before lunch I had an alterations appointment for my first fitting.  Everything went really well.  I was starving afterwards so I stopped at KFC to get some food for me and my husband.  I got a grilled chicken meal that came with a chicken breast and thigh, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw and a biscuit.  I gave the mashed potatoes and some of the chicken to my husband.  It was way too much food for me.  Oh I also stopped at Dutch Bros on my way back.  I wanted to go to Starbucks but my husband wanted an energy drink.  So I got an Iced Pumpkin Pie Latte for me and a Cherry Watermelon Red Bull for my husband.  Their pumpkin latte was ok, not as good as Starbucks.  For dinner I got us food at Sonic (can you tell we have no food in the house?).  I got 2 chicago hot dogs, so yummy!!  I love their chicago hot dogs.  For exercise I did 3 reps of 15 regular crunches, Pilates 100 and the Standing Abs workout.
This morning I weighed 235.2.

Day 46 & 47 - September 29 & 30, 2011

September 29- This morning I had some extra time so I decided to stop at Starbucks and try one of their Pumpkin Spice Lattes that everyone is talking about.  So I got a 16 oz. Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte with whip cream.  Oh my gosh, it was delicious!  For a mid-morning snack I had a FiberOne bar.  For lunch I had a Slimfast Meal Bar and then had a FiberOne bar for a mid-afternoon snack.  Today after work I got my hair done.  I got it trimmed and had some blonde put in it.  It turned out really great!  See pic below:
I just needed to do something to it before I went out to Illinois for my sister's wedding.  My hair was looking very blah, but now it looks fabulous! =)  For dinner I made carne asada on the grill.  Usually my husband is the one who cooks on the grill, but he had me do it this time.  So I had 3 carne asada tacos with reduced fat cheddar cheese and Ortega taco sauce.  For dessert I had some Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers.  For exercise I did 60 regular crunches, Pilates 100 and the standing abs workout.
Today I weighed 236.6
September 30- So I fail!  I can't find the paper that I wrote down what I ate today.  I do remember that I got another 16 oz. Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte with whip cream from Starbucks.  I more than likely had a Slimfast Meal bar for lunch.  I can't remember what we had for dinner.  I know I went to the mall and got some Origins Vitazing moisturizer and some stuff from Bath & Body Works.  And I remember I didn't do any exercises because I was soooo tired.  I pretty much passed out as soon as my head hit the pillow.
So today I weighed 234.6.

Day 44 & 45 - September 27 & 28, 2011

I'm sooo sorry I've been so far behind on posting these.  I've just been extremely busy with trying to get things done before I leave for vacation.  And while I'm on vacation I probably won't be posting, unless I get a chance or have time to.  I will keep track as much as I can of what I eat and do while I'm out there though.

September 27- I had a 12 oz. Lowfat Caramel Granita from Human Bean for breakfast  and a FiberOne bar for a mid-morning snack.  For lunch I made a chicken soft taco.  I used shredded chicken from a rotisserie chicken and used a gordita tortilla then added some reduced fat cheddar cheese and some Ortega sauce.  I also had some grapes and blackberries.  After work today I went and got my toes done for my sister's wedding.  I got french tip gels on.  This way I don't have to worry about painting and repainting my toes while I'm in Illinois.  For dinner we had tamales from the tamale man.  I had 2 pork and 1 chicken tamale with some Ortega sauce.  For exercise today I did 4 reps of 15 bicycle crunches, 4 reps of regular crunches and Pilates 100.
Today I weighed 234.0.

September 28- I had a 12 oz. Lowfat Caramel Granita for breakfast and had a piece of pumpkin bread for a mid-morning snack.  For lunch I had a Slimfast bar with grapes and blackberries.  And for dinner I made Healthy Skillet Lasagna (http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/healthified-skillet-lasagna/b427dc6e-0519-4678-b729-31a3d909d4b7).  It was good, but next time I don't think I'll add the ketchup.  Otherwise I enjoyed it.  For dessert I was in the mood for an ice cream shake.  We had a few leftover Peanut Butter Cups so I made Peanut Butter Cup shakes with Vanilla Bean Low Fat Ice Cream, Milk, Creamy Peanut Butter and Peanut Butter Cups.  It was soooo yummy!!  For exercise I did some standing ab workouts from a YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ueDpXC_Wao) plus 3 reps of 15 bicycle crunches, 4 reps of 15 regular crunches and Pilates 100.

Day 43 - September 26, 2011

I had a Slimfast Shake for breakfast and a FiberOne Bar for a mid-morning snack.  I had a dentist appointment today at 11:00am.  I thought it was to get my crown for the tooth that I had a root canal on and thought this would be by last dentist appointment, besides cleanings.  Well I got a temporary crown and have to go back one more time for a permanent crown, then I'll be done.  So after my dentist appointment I went home and had some lunch.  I had a Slimfast Meal bar and some Baked Cheetos.  For dinner I made burgers with colby jack cheese.  On my burger I put raw green pepper, a fried egg, pickle, mustard and ketchup. Fried eggs on a burger are soooo good.  If you've never tried it before you really should.  For exercise today I did 3 reps of 15 bicycle crunches, 3 reps of 15 regular crunches and Pilates 100.  I didn't mention this earlier but I don't know if anyone noticed that I made it thru the whole week with doing some sort of exercise every day and I'm still going. =)  Yay I reached a goal.  I want to do more exercise but right now I feel like my crunches are what I have time for.  I do them right before I go to bed.
Today I weighed 235.0.  I just wanted to say that it's been at least 6 months since I have had any soda.  And I've actually tried a sip of my husband's Pepsi and Dr. Pepper two different times and it does not taste like anything to me.  All I tasted was carbonation.  It was weird.  I used to love Cherry Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew and I haven't tried either of those since I've stopped drinking soda.  I probably won't like them though.  I was drinking flavored sparkling water when I was trying to stop drinking soda and I really liked those for a while, but I don't even like those anymore.  I don't like anything with carbonation.  It just makes me feel like crap.  I don't know why I wanted to bring that up.  Maybe if you're trying to stop drinking soda this will help you and you'll see that it's possible.  I had tried to stop drinking soda at least 2 times before the time that I really stopped.

Day 41 & 42 - September 24 & 25, 2011

September 24 - I had a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch for breakfast.  We had to take our dogs to the vet today.  Oh my gosh, it was so cute!  One of our dogs, Remy, is a boxer bullmastiff mix and there was a female boxer at the vet's office (who just had puppies) and Remy laid down in front of her, like nose to nose with her.  He was smelling her and almost cuddling her.  It was so cute!  After the vet I was starving, so we stopped at one of the local Taco Carts and I got a carne asada burrito!  Yummy yummy yummy!  Besides the carne asada it had guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and salsa.  I drank a Sobe Lean Honey Green Tea with my burrito.  I didn't finish my burrito.  It's so huge.  I ate a little more than half of it.  After my burrito I had some sour gummy worms.  More specifically Trolli Brite Crawlers, my favorite!!  Love these!!  I want to find a huge bag of these.  All I ever find is the small bags, I need a bulk bag of these lol!  One of our friends stopped by and brought his new puppy over.  He has an 8 week old yellow lab who is the same size as our dog, Pooper =P, and pretty much the same color as him too.  His puppy's name is Porter and he's a typical puppy.  Very playful and energetic.  Pooper and Porter played non stop while they were here.  For dinner I had 2 hot dogs with ketchup, mustard and pickles and dessert was some Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie Trifle.  My exercise was 3 reps of 15 bicycle crunches, 3 reps of 15 regular crunches and Pilates 100.
Today I weighed 234.8, down 1.4 lbs. from yesterday. =)

September 25- For breakfast I had 2 pieces of wheat toast.  And today I had my first alterations appointment to get my bridesmaids dress fixed.  The appointment went well.  The lady I'm going to did all the alterations for my wedding and did great so I knew I had to go back to her.  I go back next Sunday for my fitting.  I can't wait to see it on and see how it fits =).  On my way home from my appointment I stopped at Human Bean and got a 12oz. Caramel Granita.  Notice it wasn't a Low Fat one?  Well at first the girl tried giving me a caramel latte.  Huh?  It's hot outside, why would I order a hot drink?  And how does granita sound like latte?  So I told her what I wanted again and she made a regular granita, I was pretty annoyed with her so I just took it.  I ended up only drinking half of it anyways because my neighbor came over and I did her makeup =).  For those of you reading this that don't know me in real life I love makeup.  I've gotten really good at it over the past year basically from watching YouTube videos and practicing.  So my sister asked me to do makeup for the bridesmaids for her wedding and I wanted to practice before her wedding.  My neighbor volunteered and I had a lot of fun doing her makeup.  Anyways back to food, lol, my husband wanted McDonald's for dinner which was ok with me because I had been craving a Big Mac for that past week and they have a buy one get one free with Big Macs and Quarter Pounders right now.  So I had a Big Mac and Honey Mustard Chicken Wrap with a Sweet Tea for dinner.  And had some more of that Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie Trifle for dessert.  My exercise was 3 reps of 15 bicycle crunches, 3 reps of 15 regular crunches, 2 reps of 10 diagonal crunches and Pilates 100.
Today I forgot to weigh myself =(  I really hate it when I do that.  It's mostly on the weekends when I forget because there isn't a specific time I get up during the weekend like there is during the week.

Day 39 & 40 - September 22 & 23, 2011

September 22- I had a 12 oz. Lowfat Caramel Granita with a piece of pumpkin bread this morning.  For lunch I had a Slimfast Meal Bar with grapes & blackberries.  For dinner my husband and I made Mongolian Beef.  We use some mongolian sauce packets then add that to the meat with red peppers, peanuts, mushrooms and snow peas.  And we put it on top of quinoa.  So yummy!  For dessert I had 3 mini peanut butter cups.  My exercise today was 4 reps of 15 bicycle crunches, 4 reps of 15 regular crunches, Pilates 100 and 2 reps of 15 diagonal crunches.
Today I weighed 235.6, down .2 lbs. from yesterday.

September 23- For breakfast I had a Slimfast Shake and my mid-morning snack was 1/2 of a Lara bar.    For lunch I had a Slimfast Meal Bar and 1/2 a bag of Smart Pop popcorn.  For dinner I got us Panda Express.  I had Honey Walnut Shrimp and Beijing Beef on white rice.  My exercise today was 3 reps of 15 bicycle crunches, 3 reps of 15 regular crunches and Pilates 100.  If you've never done Pilates 100 you should google it and try it.  You can really feel it in your abs after doing it.
Today I weighed 236.2, that's plus .6 lbs. from yesterday.

Day 37 & 38 - September 20 & 21, 2011

September 20- This morning I had a Slimfast shake for breakfast, then had a Fiber Plus bar for a mid-morning snack.  For lunch I had a Slimfast Meal Bar and grapes, strawberries & blackberries.  My husband got some really yummy blackberries.  They look so perfect I didn't want to eat them, but I did and they were soo yummy!  For dinner my husband made us kabobs with steak, mushrooms and red peppers.  He marinated some of the meat in teriyaki sauce and just used some seasoning on the other meat.  They turned out really good.  I wasn't so into the red peppers though.  The texture of them with the meat and mushrooms just didn't work for me.  For dessert I had 5 rolos.  Tonight for exercise I did 4 reps of 15 bicycle crunches (if you haven't noticed I plan on doing these every night no matter what my other exercise is) and 2 reps of 15 regular crunches.  
Today I weighed 235.2 =), down 1.2 lbs. from yesterday.  

September 21- Once again this week has been bad for sleep.  I've been going to bed between 12:30am & 1:00am.  I just have so much I need to get done before we leave for Illinois and I feel like I don't have enough time to do it all.  So anyways I stopped and got a 12 oz. Lowfat Caramel Granita this morning and had a Fiber Plus bar as a mid-morning snack.  For lunch I had a Slimfast Meal Bar with grapes & blackberries.  Yum!  After work I went to Old Navy (my Favorite Store!!) to do a little shopping and while I was there my husband called and asked if I'd stop and get dinner on my way home.  And for dinner we had Togo's.  I had my usual Turkey & Avocado sandwich.  I almost tried a chicken sandwich, but there's a picture of the Turkey & Avocado sandwich on their menu and it just looks too good to pass up.  I had 16 oz. glass of Arizona Raspberry Iced Tea with my dinner and dessert was 2 mini Reese's PB Cups.  I did 4 or 5 reps (I lost track of how many reps I did, oops) of bicycle crunches and 2 reps of diagonal crunches.  I have been running out of time to do a real workout so I've been doing my crunches right before I go to bed.
Today I weighed 235.8, up .6 lbs from yesterday.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to start a 3 day detox this friday.  If I don't start it this friday then for sure next friday.  And, of course, I'll document everything that I do as far as what I eat and drink and how I feel that day.

Day 36 - September 19, 2011

This morning I stopped at Human Bean and got the usual, 12 oz. Lowfat Caramel Granita.  I know I need to cut back on these again and I will.  I also got a slice of Pumpkin bread with my granita.  I'm really starting to get excited for fall (it's still in the high 80s to low 90s here) and Human Bean had their sign up for Pumpkin smoothies and Pumpkin Lattes, so that's why I decided to get the pumpkin bread.  The ingredients of the pumpkin bread were:  wheat flour, butter, brown sugar,  eggs, walnuts, salt, baking powder, pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg.  It was really yummy and now I want Pumpkin Pie. =)  For lunch I had a Slimfast Meal Bar and a bowl of grapes & strawberries.  For dinner I had a cheese bagel with cream cheese.  And dessert were some Strawberry Sour Punch Bites.  These things are so addicting.  It's so hard to stop eating them.  After I ate dinner I went grocery shopping.  Which I actually like to do by myself, most of the time.  I get done quicker & spend less money if I go by myself.  So now we're set for meals for the rest of the week.  I think I might be making a couple new things too, if I do I'll post the recipe with my blog post.  Also, tonight I did my workout.  Since it was so late by the time I had time to workout I just did 3 reps of 15 bicycle crunches and 1 rep of 15 regular crunches.  Maybe by the end of this week I'll have a 6 pack, hee hee.  Just kidding.
Today I weighed 236.4, still the same.  You know if my dogs weren't such nut jobs on leashes I'd take them for walks as part of my exercise.  Maybe I'll just take one dog instead.  Hmmm...

Day 35 - September 18, 2011

This morning I had a bowl of Kashi Toasted Berry Crumble cereal.  Don't think I'll buy this one again.  I really like the Go Lean Honey Almond Flax and just wanted to try something different.  But the Toasted Berry Crumble is just bland to me unless you get a bite with a little dried berry.  Just wasn't very good.  For lunch I had taco salad and a 20 oz. bottle of water.  I decided today that I'm going to workout every day starting now until Saturday the 24th.  So this whole week I am going to workout every day.  Today I started my workout outside and I did some Pilates moves and 40 chest flies and 20 lunges.  I was going to continue my workout outside because it's been so nice out but I was getting swarmed by flies and it was so annoying.  So I came inside and did my 20 minute Total Body Pilates video and I did 3 reps of 15 bicycle crunches.  I was still hot after showering and when I was getting ready so I didn't want to use my blow dryer to style my hair.  So I did a no heat hairstyle, tried it for the first time.  Yeah that was a bad idea.  It looked horrible and I was going to go grocery shopping tonight, but I was so frustrated and annoyed with everything that I just didn't go.  So for dinner I had a cheese bagel with cream cheese and watermelon juice.  My husband got the watermelon juice and it's from a brand called Earthwise and it's all natural.  I guess it's a new brand in our grocery store (Safeway), but it's really yummy.  For dessert I had a small bowl of Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream.
Today I weighed 236.4, same as yesterday.  I'm hoping my plan of working out every day for a week will help me lose a couple more pounds.  I'm also thinking about doing a 3 day cleanse.

Day 34 - September 17, 2011

When I got up this morning I had a Slimfast Shake for breakfast.  Then I started my day of cleaning.  I wanted to get a head start on cleaning so everything will be easy once it's time for us to leave for Illinois.  If I clean like crazy now, then it'll just be simple wiping down later.  So I cleaned the crap out of our kitchen.  I think the only other time it was this clean was when we first moved in over a year ago.  I know that's horrible, but I do clean I just don't move things and clean behind them and stuff like that.  Anyways the kitchen is all done.  I also did 3 loads of laundry and 2 loads of dishes.  I took a break in between all the cleaning and had some lunch.  I had my leftover Pad Thai from last night, it heats up really well.  It tastes just as good if not better than the first night.  I also had a small bowl of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.  After I finished cleaning the kitchen I started on our bedroom.  We're going to have someone stay at our house and watch our dogs while we're gone and I don't know if they'll want to stay in our room or the guest room so I have to make sure both are clean.  I would've cleaned both either way though.  I got a pretty good amount of cleaning done in our room, just need to do some straightening up of things now.  While I was home cleaning my husband had gone to his parents house to watch the Oregon Ducks game.  So when he got home he had taco meat.  For dinner we had taco salad.  On mine I had lettuce, tortilla chips, taco meat, 1/2 of an avocado, fat free sour cream, reduced fat cheddar cheese and Ortega taco sauce.  I had Arizona Sweet Tea to drink with my dinner.  Tonight we watched the movie Paul.  It has the 2 guys from Shaun of the Dead & Hot Fuzz in it.  I didn't think I was going to like this movie, but it was actually pretty funny.  It's a movie that I would watch again.  For dessert I had half of a Magnum White Chocolate Ice Cream Bar, my husband and I shared it.  I guess this is a new flavor from Magnum, it's very yummy but my favorite is the Double Caramel, Yum!

Day 32 & 33 - September 15 & 16, 2011

September 15- Got a 12 oz. Lowfat Caramel Granita from Human Bean this morning and ate a lara bar with it.  For lunch I had a Slimfast Meal Bar with goldfish crackers and Skinny Cow Dreamy Clusters.  I also drank 30 oz. of water with my lunch.  For dinner I made Betty Crocker Complete Meal Cheesy Chicken Helper.  And I had a S'mores Brownie for dessert.  Nothing exciting happened today.
Today I weighed 236.6, down .8 lbs from yesterday.

September 16- This morning I woke up so late.  I usually get up at 5:45am and I didn't get up until 7:00am.  I have to leave for work between 7:30am & 7:40am.  So I didn't weigh myself because I had to rush to get ready for work.  I probably over slept because I haven't been falling asleep until after 1:00am every day this week.  So since I was already running late I figured it wouldn't matter for me to stop for a few minutes and get a 12 oz.  Lowfat Caramel Granita, which is what I did.  I had a Fiber Plus bar as a mid morning snack.  For lunch I had a turkey & ham lunchable with some grapes and 3 cherry/citrus twizzlers.  I was really craving some Thai food, so we ordered some for dinner. =)  I got Pad Thai, my husband got Pad Kee Mao.  And I drank some Arizona Sweet Tea.  My husband pointed out that I used to not like tea or Thai food and I was having both.  And I actually crave Thai food now, it's so yummy!  I'm hoping we can go to a Thai place in Illinois when we go out there for my sister's wedding. =)  Anyways, we watched Rango tonight.  Which I thought was a cute movie.  Good kid's movie.

Day 31 - September 14, 2011

I stopped at Human Bean on my way to work and got a 12 oz. Lowfat Caramel Granita.  I've been getting horrible sleep all week and really need the caffeine.  With my granita I had a lara bar.  Today was the Extreme Makeover Home Edition reveal, so I left work at 12:30pm so I could go to it.  On the radio they were saying it would happen around 3:00, so I thought I'd get there early and hopefully get a good spot.  I ate a Slimfast Meal Bar before I went and took a big bottle of water with me.  I got out to the house about 1:00pm and there was already a lot of people there.  If the people were in actual rows I was probably in the 4th or 5th row, but there was a whole section blocked off in front of where we all were that was for VIP.  So I ended being a lot farther back.  I got a few good pictures, but I just held my camera up and took pictures because I couldn't see anything.  It was interesting to experience the behind the scenes of the show.  And be a part of the filming.  It's not as exciting as the actual show because you do one scene like 3 times.  For example, we did the "move that bus" scene 3 times before the family was even there and then we did it 2 more times once the family came.  So by the time if was the real thing it was not very exciting.  The reveal didn't actually happen until 5:30pm and I ended up leaving at 6:00pm.  I couldn't see anything and I figured they'd be going in the house after that.  Plus my body was hurting from standing for 5 hours and 1/2 of my body was sunburned.  I don't know if I'd ever go again if I had the opportunity, but it was an interesting experience.  And for anyone that is wondering and may want to watch the episode to look for me it'll air on November 25th.  So I was starving and so thirsty by the time I left.  McDonald's is right by where we had to park so I went there to get dinner.  I had a Honey Mustard Chicken Wrap and an Angus Chipotle Wrap and I had some Arizona Sweet Tea to drink.

Day 29 & 30 - September 12 & 13, 2011

September 12- I had a Slimfast French Vanilla shake for breakfast.  I don't think I'll rebuy this flavor.  It's not very good.  I think I'm going to buy the shake mix stuff instead, we'll see.  For a mid -morning snack I had a Fiber Plus bar.  Lunch was a Slimfast Meal Bar, Yoplait Light Strawberry White Chocolate yogurt and Skinny Cow Dreamy Clusters.  And while I'm thinking about it, remember when I said I bought a Raspberry Lemonade yogurt?  Well my husband tried it and I tried some too.  It was really good.  There were no seeds in it and it there was no really sour lemon flavor.  If I find that flavor again I'll definitely get it.  Ok so before I went back to work from my lunch break I went to Human Bean and got a 12 oz. Lowfat Caramel Granita.  I can't remember if I've mentioned this yet, but Extreme Makeover Home Edition has been in my town since 9/7/11.  Which I think is really exciting.  So at work I got an email with a flyer to use at Mucho Gusto and 25% of what you spend goes towards the family that was picked.  So, of course, we had Mucho Gusto for dinner.  I had a 1/2 beef 1/2 pork taco salad in a wheat tortilla bowl.  On it I put black beans, lettuce, cabbage, cheddar jack cheese, cilantro, lime cilantro sour cream and medium salsa.  I love their taco salads, the only thing is their huge!  And you also get chips & salsa with it.  I ended up eating the whole thing, not a good idea.  It was just so yummy.  I wasn't sure it would last in the fridge over night and I didn't want all that goodness to go to waste.  With my dinner I drank 30 oz. of water.  Tomorrow is my follow up root canal appointment for me to get my permanent filling and I really wanted to make some cookies or something for my dentist because they got me in so quickly and took care of me.  I just really appreciated them helping me out when I was in so much pain.  And I was going to make some "healthy" dessert or some fruit type dessert because it is my dentist.  But in the end I decided to make something that I would like, something more my style of baking.  It was also our neighbor's daughter's birthday so I was going to make something for her too.  I had to go to the store to grab a few things, then came back and I made S'mores Brownies for our neighbor's daughter and I made chocolate chip rolo cookies that were half dipped in chocolate for my dentist's office. =)   See pictures below:
For dessert I had 1/2 of a brownie & 1/2 of a cookie (shared with my husband).  They're both really good.  The brownies are pretty messy because of the marshmallows, but still very good.
This morning I weighed 235.6, down 1.2 lbs. from yesterday!

September 13 - I have no idea what happened on this day.  You'll see once I post this that I am typing this on 9/15/11, which I usually type out my blog posts a day or two later.  But I always write everything that I eat and do in my planner and put my weight in my phone.  For the 13th I didn't write anything down and I didn't put my weight in my phone.  So the only thing I can remember from this day is I dropped those cookies off at my dentist's office and they were very excited about that.  I had my follow up appointment for my root canal (I went to a dental surgeon for this), which only took 45 mins.  And my face was super numb this time and my tooth did hurt afterwards.  But not an unbearable pain.  It was just sore.   Also, today was very exciting because I got to walk thru the Extreme Makeover Home Edition house.  My husband's work made something to go in the house so one of his co-workers had a VIP pass.  The house is amazing!  I think my favorite part is the master bathroom.  But there are so many amazing things in that house.  I know we went there about 7:00pm/7:30pm and I don't think we ate dinner until after we got back.  But I'm not sure what we ate.  Ugh!  This sucks, I can't believe I didn't write anything down.  Sorry, I failed!

Day 27 & 28 - September 10 & 11, 2011

I decided to combine these 2 days because the blog posts for each were going to be pretty short and it'll help me catch up on my posts too.

September 10, 2011 - I had a bowl of Fiber Plus Caramel Pecan Crunch cereal for breakfast.  For lunch I had a SlimFast Meal Bar, Yoplait Light Strawberry White Chocolate yogurt, a banana and Skinny Cow Dreamy Clusters.  I had a 16 oz. glass of raspberry iced tea to drink.  Tonight was "date night" with my husband.  Neither of us felt like going anywhere because it's been sooo hot outside.  But we did go out to pick up our food.  We got Hawaiian food from Noho's.  I got teriyaki chicken and it comes with mac salad and rice.  I only ate 1/2 of it and save the rest and I drank about 32 oz. of water with my dinner.  We watched Sucker Punch while we were eating dinner and I really liked that movie.  If I hadn't read the description of the movie I would've been really confused.  It didn't make sense at first, but then I caught on.  If you like movies where the girls kick ass, then you'd like this one.  It's a movie that I would definitely watch more than once.
This morning I weighed 236.4, down 1 lb. from yesterday.  

September 11, 2011 - I had a SlimFast Meal Bar for breakfast.  For lunch I ate my leftover Noho's and had a small bowl of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.  I ate lunch around 2:30pm and then I ended up going to the store around 8:00pm.  Somehow I never ate dinner.  I guess I was never hungry for it.  But when I got back from the store I had a watermelon popsicle.  I think the leftover Noho's just really filled me up.  Today was a boring day.  Sundays usually are pretty boring.  Maybe I need to start running or jogging or something.  So at least I'm doing something on a Sunday.  This morning I weighed 236.8, up .4 lbs. from yesterday.

Day 26 - September 9, 2011

I had a Slimfast Meal Bar for breakfast and a Fiber Plus bar for a mid-morning snack.  I also drank 20 oz. of water by the time I finished my snack.  For lunch I had a Slimfast Meal bar, some grapes and a Skinny Cow milk chocolate heavenly crisp.  Before I left work my husband texted me and said his parents wanted to take us out to dinner.  So after I got off work they picked us up and we went to a place called Ali's Thai Kitchen. I used to not really like Thai food at all, but I've become more open with trying new foods and have really grown to like Thai food.  My father-in-law likes to order food "family style", so we ordered 2 appetizers (golden fried shrimp and spring rolls) and 3 entrees (cucumber salad, pad thai and spicy fish) and we all shared them.  It's actually better to order that way with a group because you don't eat as much.  You want to make sure everyone gets some so you tend to take less.  The golden fried shrimp also come with 2 fried broccoli, an onion ring and a fried banana.  I had one fried shrimp and one fried broccoli and I also tried a little piece of the banana just because I had never tried it before.  It was not good, the consistency of it grossed me out.  It was crunchy on the outside and mushy on the inside. Ick!  I also had one spring roll.  Then for dinner I had some of the cucumber salad and pad thai.  I didn't eat any of the spicy fish because it's too spicy for me.  I had never tried the cucumber salad before but it was very good as was the pad thai.  I think this place has the best pad thai.  I could eat it probably 3 times a week and never get sick of it.  After dinner we all went to my husband's cousin's high school football game.  It was 97 degrees when we got there at 7:00pm and it was still sunny.  And of course you squish in between a bunch of people in the bleachers.  It was so gross, you could feel the sweatiness of the people around you.  And there were several people around me that had way too much perfume or cologne on.  I kept smelling different scents, some were good and some not so good, but it was giving me a headache.  And being in a crowd like that just made it feel even hotter.  Near the end it got a little better, it was a little cooler and the people who were sitting in front of me moved so I could stretch out and every once in a while I felt a little breeze.  I realized I like people watching more than paying attention to the game.  Pretty much the whole time I would be watching what all the people were doing.  I would watch when his cousin was in the game and I saw the part where one of the players got hit with the ball because he was running and not paying attention to where the ball was.  That was hilarious! So I ended up sweating for 3 hours straight, I thought maybe my body would think I was working out and I'd lose some weight, LOL.  At the game I drank a red gatorade and my mother-in-law had some snacks so I had a tiny bag of peanut M&Ms.  You know the little bags you get when you go trick-or-treating?  It was one of those.  Once I got home all I wanted to do was lay down.  Which is pretty much what I did.  We got home around 10:00pm and I started watching some YouTube videos and fell asleep.  I would wake up every once in a while, but I was just too tired to get up. I ended up getting up at 2:00am to take off my makeup and brush my teeth, then went back to bed.  Oh I forgot to say that my husband's cousin's team won!  The other team was really bad.
This morning I weighed 237.4, up .2 lbs. from yesterday.  And I didn't workout today, I'm counting my 3 hours of sweating as a workout. =P

Day 25 - September 8, 2011

This morning I had a Fiber Plus bar for breakfast and some grapes for a mid-morning snack.  For lunch I went to the grocery store and decided to buy a box of Slim Fast Cookie Dough Meal Bars.  I did the Slim Fast diet a few years ago and it did work for me.  So I thought I'd try it again.  I was going to get some of the shake making powder too because they have a high protein one now, but I didn't.  I may go back and get some because I think it would be a great thing for breakfast.  I had one of the meal bars for my lunch with some grapes and a 20oz. Sobe Lean Honey Green Tea.  I would've never bought green tea about 3 months ago.  I used to hate all kinds of tea, none of it tasted it good to me.  Anytime I had tried it before it tasted like something that was really watered down and had no flavor.  Now I love tea and don't know how I hated it before.  I really was not in the mood to cook dinner tonight, it's been between 98-102 degrees out all week.  So I go lucky when the Tamale man came to our house.  I was so happy!  We bought 6 chicken & 6 pork tamales.  They were soo hot too.  He carries them around in a little cooler, so I wonder if he has some kind of warmer in his van or maybe he just lives really close.  I don't know, but they are soo yummy!  I had 3 for dinner (they're pretty small) and I put fat free sour cream and Ortega taco sauce on them.  Ortega taco sauce is the BEST taco sauce around!!  If you've never tried it you need to.  When I first moved to Oregon I couldn't find it anywhere, so I had my parents mail it to me.  Then finally one of our stores started carrying it.  I can not live without this sauce.  For dessert I had a small bowl of Breyer's Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.  This is one of my favorite ice creams.  I love mint chocolate chip ice cream and this is the best one.  I don't like the ones that are green, it just doesn't look right or taste right to me.  I also had 3 pieces of Cary's Milk Chocolate Almond English Toffee.  I bought it because it was made in Grants Pass, which isn't too far from me.  So I thought that was neat and my husband and I wanted to try it.  It was really good.  There were two other kinds too, but I can't remember what they were.
This morning I weighed 237.2, that's down .2 lbs. from yesterday.  And tonight I did 30 regular crunches and 20 side crunches.

Day 24 - September 7, 2011

My breakfast today was a Light Yoplait Raspberry Cheesecake Yogurt.  I decided I don't like this yogurt.  There are seeds from the raspberries in it and the seeds are very annoying.  I'll stick to my White Chocolate Strawberry yogurt.  I did find Raspberry Lemonade yogurt today and got one.  I'm going to have my husband be the guinea pig and try it first.  It just sounded like a very interesting flavor to me.  I wonder if it'll have those annoying seeds too.  Anyways, for my mid-morning snack I had a fiber plus bar.  For lunch I went home and made 2 pieces of wheat toast and spread some bestlife buttery spread on my toast.  This buttery spread has 40% Fewer Calories and 70% Less Saturated Fat than Butter.  It tasted just like butter to me.  I also sprinkled a little low fat cheese on top of my toast.  I ate a handful of pretzels and had a skinny cow peanut butter crisp as well.  Today I had a normal dentist appointment, I was getting a filling, so I brought my toothpaste and toothbrush with me to work so I could brush my teeth before my appointment.  Well usually I put them in a baggy, but just didn't this time.  Boy was that a mistake.  I stopped at Human Bean on my way back to work & got a 12 oz Low Fat Caramel Granita (I was up until 1am, so I was really falling asleep at work) and set my wallet on my lap to grab my money to pay.  When I got to work and started to get out of the car I noticed something on my pants.  I couldn't figure out what it was until I touched it and smelled it, it was toothpaste!!  The cap opened in my purse and it got on my wallet then got on my pants.  So I walked back into work with 2 spots of toothpaste on my pants.  I tried getting it out, but all it did was dry to a nasty, white mess.  It was so embarrassing!  Luckily I left 2 hours after that and went home real quick to change my pants before my dentist appointment.  I thought I'd share that story, everyone at work thought it was funny.  So for dinner I made hamburgers.  I put Laughing Cow Swiss Cheese, ketchup, mustard, pickles and lettuce on my burger.  I wish we had green peppers, those raw on a burger is sooooo good!  I was really in the mood for some ice cream today too, so my husband was running out to the little corner store up the road from our house and I asked him to grab me some ice cream.  I asked him to get me something at least semi-healthy.  He came back and said they didn't have anything healthy so he got my some Haagen Dazs Caramel Cone ice cream.  I ate about a 1/2 cup, maybe a little more of that for my dessert.  After my food settled I did the Total Body Pilates workout on Hulu.com.
This morning I weighed 237.4, up 1 lb. from yesterday. Blah!  I really want to lose most of the weight in my stomach, so I'm thinking about doing lots of crunches before bed every night and maybe that'll help my tummy go away some. =)

Day 23 - September 6, 2011

I woke up this morning and had a little bit of extra time before I needed to start getting ready, so at 6:00am I had a small bowl of Fiber Plus Caramel Pecan Crunch cereal.  At 8:00am I had a lara bar and at 11:00am I had some red grapes.  For lunch I was going to have the leftover half of my turkey avocado sandwich from Togo's, but I didn't think about the avocado on the sandwich.  It was all brown and nasty looking, so I threw that away.  I ended up eating some cut up cantaloupe and a Fiber Plus bar and had a 12 oz. Low Fat Caramel Granita to drink.  For dinner, my husband wanted to get some fast food.  You may be thinking that's mean of him to want fast food when I'm trying to lose weight, but I don't want to make him stop eating what he wants to eat just because I want to lose weight.  He should be able to eat what he wants to.  If he want's to diet with me then there will be a lot less fast food/pizza eating.  Anyways, I have the Eat This Not That book, so I looked in there to see what they suggested for certain places.  The one that sounded the best to me was Wendy's.  The book's rating for Wendy's is a B+, basically because they have side choices like mandarin oranges and chili, and they have Jr. burgers that aren't much more than 300 calories.  But where Wendy's is bad is all their double & triple burgers and lost of desserts.  Ok anyways, they suggest a double stack and small chili, which together have 550 calories & 24 grams of fat.  It also says together they have 37 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber, that sounds good to me.  So that's what I got for dinner.  And as I was on Wendy's site trying to help my husband decide on what to eat I saw they had this Berry Frosty Parfait thing, so we got that and shared it.  It was a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be and it wasn't all the great.  I would rather make my own with fresh fruit and frozen yogurt.  After dinner I worked out to the first video challenge from Tone It Up.  Tone It Up is 2 girls, Karina & Katrina, and I guess lots of celebrities follow their nutritional plans and their workouts.  So I joined their Fall Challenge and you get a calendar of challenges for the month of September.  Today was the Detention workout.  (link:  http://toneitup.com/blog.php?Detention-Workout-5175 )  You should all try it!  Or at least watch it and see what I did. =)  It was really hard for me, especially the part where you have to be in a plank position on an exercise ball and write out the words "I will tone it up" with the ball.  I did the circuit 2 times, they recommend you do it 2-3 times and I was sweating!  I went and laid on the floor in our guest bedroom after doing this because it's a lot cooler in there and my dog (he's a boxer bullmastiff) came over and sat right on my stomach.  It was hilarious!  He just sat there like it's normal for him to sit on me.  He seemed pretty comfortable too, lol.  He thinks he's a lap dog and he's definitely not.  
So today I weighed 236.4, down .4 lbs. from yesterday.  That's good, still going down.  I haven't been doing so well with drinking water.  I think it might be because I bring a big water bottle to work with me instead of bringing a 20 oz bottle of water.  I think I'll try bringing a 20 oz. bottle instead and see if I drink more water.  That's it for now!

Day 22 - September 5, 2011

Happy Labor Day!!  I started my day with a bowl of Fiber Plus Caramel Pecan Crunch cereal.  Pretty soon I'm going to be out of this cereal and I haven't decided if I'm going to repurchase it or buy one of the other ones.  Hmmm... I'll have to think about that.  For lunch I decided to make a little mini pizza.  I know what you're thinking, More Pizza?!?!  The only reason I decided to make a mini pizza is because there were leftover mushrooms and I didn't want those to go bad AND we have spinach, which doesn't last very long, so I wanted to use some of that too.  So I used a wheat tortilla, spread some Ragu sauce on it.  Then I cooked some spinach and mushrooms and put those on top of the sauce.  Then topped it with low fat mozzarella cheese.  My husband had a little accident in the oven last night when he flipped his party pizza and it landed upside down on the bottom of the oven.  So the oven was unusable when I made my pizza because we needed to figure out how to get all that mess out of the oven.  I used the broiler instead.  I just put it under the broiler until the cheese started to brown a little.  This mini pizza was definitely yummy.  The spinach and mushrooms were a perfect combination.  And this was a good way to easily eat a lot of spinach.  I put about 2 handfuls of spinach in the pan and after it cooked down it was the smallest amount.  I may just add spinach to any pizza we make or order from now on.  With my mini pizza I had a Light Yoplait White Chocolate Strawberry yogurt.  By the time dinner came around one of my husband's friends had stopped by and we were all hungry.  His friend had never been to Togo's so that's what we had for dinner again.  This time I could only eat half of my 6 inch Turkey Avocado sandwich.  I was so full after 1/2, I'm not sure if they added more meat this time or I was just full, but it was still really yummy.  I drank a raspberry iced tea with that and had 1/2 of a chocolate chunk cookie.  While my husband was at the neighbor's house one of his other friends stopped by and dropped off some Muddy Buddies.  At least that's what they are called in Oregon, where I'm from (Illinois) we called them Puppy Chow.  So whatever you call them from wherever you are, they are chex with peanut butter, chocolate and powdered sugar.  So good!  I've never made them because they look like a pain in the butt to make, but they are just soo yummy!  So I had a little bit of those too. Hee Hee =)
I weighed 236.8 this morning. that's down 1.8lbs from Saturday (since I forgot to weigh myself yesterday).  That's also down 4.6lbs. since I started 3 weeks ago!!  And that's down 11.2lbs since January!  WooHoo!  I think 4.6 lbs. in 3 weeks is good.  I think 1-2lbs a week is healthy, right?

Day 21 - September 4, 2011

Thanks to Labor Day I get to have a 3 day weekend!  So normally today would be my lazy day, I don't know why but I never feel like doing anything on Sundays.  But since I don't have to work tomorrow my husband and I are having date night tonight.  I'll get into that later.  I started today with a bowl of Fiber Plus Caramel Pecan Crunch cereal.  For lunch I had 3 pieces of pizza (2 mushroom leftover from Jackson Creek Pizza & one BBQ chicken leftover from when I made it), a 90 calorie Fiber One brownie and some sun tea that my husband made.  As kind of a between early lunch and late dinner snack I had about 1/4 cup of dark chocolate covered raisins.  For dinner and the start of our date night we went to Togo's.  I got a 6 inch Turkey Avocado on wheat with mustard, lettuce, pickles and pepperoncinis and we got a raspberry iced tea to share.  We ordered this to go because we were going to watch a movie while we ate.  We ended up watching Limitless with Bradley Cooper.  If you haven't seen it, you need to.  It's a really good movie. And Bradley Cooper is starting to be one of my favorite actors, I really like him.  Anyways, we got a chocolate chunk cookie with our combo from Togo's so we shared that too.  I really wanted to go to this frozen yogurt place called Yogurt Hut that we have out here, but there's a new frozen yogurt place called Yotopia that's a lot closer to our house.  We decided to go and try Yotopia and I am so glad we did!  They had about 8 different flavors of frozen yogurt, a bunch of different fresh fruit, a ton of different kinds of candies & cookies, about 15 different syrups & hard shell toppings, and they had these things they called poppers.  There were 3 different flavors and they looked like fish eggs, but the girl said they're little juice balls that are wrapped in seaweed.  You don't taste the seaweed, you pop it in your mouth and taste the juice.  They were yummy.  So I got Reese's PB Cup, Praline & Cake Batter frozen yogurt.  Then on top I got raspberries, some of those poppers, marshmallow fluff, mini PB cups, and some weird marshmallow things (I think they're called mochi or something).  I wish I would've seen all the fruit before I picked my flavors. My husband got this blackberry infused whip cream with fresh blackberries on cheesecake frozen yogurt, omg that was delicious!!  All in all I am so happy we went to Yotopia instead of Yogurt Hut.  And I am so happy it's not that far from my house =)
Unfortunately today I woke up later than I had planned and didn't remember to weigh myself until about 3:00pm and thought it was pointless by then.  So no weight today =(

Day 20 - September 3, 2011

Funny story - I actually woke up at 6:05am today, got up and started rushing around to get ready for work.  I weighed myself before I was going to get in the shower and when I put it in my phone I realized it was Saturday. Duh!  So I went back to bed and got up at a normal weekend time.  I felt like such a dummy for doing then.  So anyways once I really got up I had a bowl of Fiber Plus Caramel Pecan Crunch cereal for breakfast.  This cereal is soo good!  I get the Fiber Plus bars a lot and they just came out with a few cereals.  The other 2 were Cinnamon Oat Crunch and Berry Yogurt Crunch.  For lunch I had a small bowl of leftover white cheddar pasta with some wheat thins and Laughing Cow Swiss Cheese.  Today was the first Oregon Ducks game of the season, so my husband had someone over to watch the game with him.  We ended up ordering a couple pizzas from Jackson Creek Pizza.  I can't remember what the guys got on their pizza, a bunch of different kinds of meat or something.  And then on mine I just got mushrooms.  My husband has this card that he got from his cousin's football team that has all these deals on it and one is for this pizza place where you buy a large pizza and get a medium for free.  So that's what we did.  I ate 3 pieces of mushroom pizza.  The pieces weren't that big so I figured 3 wouldn't be that bad.  Then for dessert I had about 1/4 cup of dark chocolate covered raisins.  And I drank about 45 oz. of water today.
I weighed 238.6 this morning, that's down .8 lbs. from yesterday.  I'm not sure what I'm doing that's making my weight go down.  Once I figure it out I'll make sure I continue to do it.  But I'm happy it's continuing to go down instead of up and down, etc.

Day 19 - September 2, 2011

I had a lara bar for breakfast this morning.  In case anyone is wondering I've been eating the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Lara Bars lately.  I had a Raspberry Nutrigrain bar for my mid-morning snack.  On my lunch break I had to go to the bank, so I didn't go home for lunch again.  Today I went to to the store to check out the premade sandwiches they had.  Most of the ones they had out were huge, I decided to grab a Pastrami sandwich.  Then I also got a container of precut cantaloupe.  The pastrami sandwich was not good.  I couldn't really see what was on the sandwich from the bag it was in, so I when I opened it there was the pastrami, swiss cheese and sauerkraut.  All those ingredients are fine, but the sauerkraut made the bread soggy and made the cheese gross.  So I took the pastrami off the sandwich and was just eating that, but it didn't taste that good so I didn't eat much.  The cantaloupe was delicious though.  On my way back to work I got a 12 oz. Low Fat Caramel Granita.  The 12 oz. is actually a perfect size for me.  For a mid-afternoon snack I had a Fiber One 90 calorie Brownie.  I ran out of nutrigrain bars and fruit today, so this was my snack choice.  For dinner I really wanted to make pizza, so I headed to the store to get the ingredients.  I made a mushroom & pepperoni pizza and a bbq chicken pizza.  The mushroom & pepperoni pizza had baby bella mushrooms, turkey pepperoni (shhh, don't tell my husband it wasn't real pepperoni), and low fat mozzarella cheese.  For the sauce I used a Ragu sauce and this one was on a white crust.  The bbq chicken pizza had sweet baby ray's bbq sauce, canned chicken (shredded) and low fat mozzarella cheese.  This one was on a wheat crust.  I had 2 pieces of the mushroom one and one of the chicken one.  For dessert I had a Skinny Cow Peanut Butter Heavenly Crisp.  Today I drank about 50 oz. of water.
This morning I weighed 239.4,  down .2 lbs. from yesterday.  Again, I'm not really sure how my weight is going down, but I'll take it =).  Tomorrow I think I'm going to try to workout a little bit.  I've been feeling great.  My tooth and jaw have felt so good that I almost started chewing my food on that side of my mouth today.  Which I'm not supposed to do until after I go back and get my permanent filling.  Plus I have 2 days of antibiotics left, I should be fine to do some working out.

Day 18 - September 1, 2011

For breakfast I had a lara bar with 20 oz. of water.  For a mid-morning snack I had some grapes & strawberries.  During my lunch break I had to go pay our mortgage payment, so I wouldn't have time to go home to eat.  I wanted to eat at Togo's, but there was a line of about 10 people and I didn't have time to wait.  There was a line at Mucho Gusto as well.  Then I decided to go to KFC.  Remember that magazine article I talked about that listed the "healthiest" fast food meals.  For KFC it was a honey bbq chicken sandwich with a large corn on the cob.  I got the BBQ Chicken Sandwich, but I didn't think eating corn on the cob was such a good idea when I was going back to work, so I got coleslaw with my sandwich.  I was already running late getting back to work, so I just ate my lunch at my desk.  I have to say, the bbq chicken sandwich sucked.  I won't be ordering that again.  I made a better BBQ chicken sandwich using canned chicken. For a mid afternoon snack I had a Skinny Cow Peanut Butter Heavenly Crisp, I know not the best snack choice, but it was all I had and I needed something.  For dinner my husband was really hungry and wanted me to stop and pick something up.  I stopped at Burger King and I got a hamburger and apple fries.  For dessert I had Skinny Cow Dark Chocolate Dreamy Clusters.  Today I had about 60 oz. of water.
This morning I weighed 239.6, down 2.2 lbs from yesterday.  Huh?  I have no idea how that happened.  This one definitely confuses me.  It's a good thing, just weird.  

Day 17 - August 31, 2011

I started my morning with a Light Yoplait White Chocolate Strawberry yogurt and some grapes.  That yogurt is so good, it tasted like dessert.  For a mid-morning snack I had a Kashi Dark Chocolate Peanutty bar.  I actually had this sent to me as a free sample from Kashi.  I haven't seen these in the store before, but I haven't checked since I got the sample, so maybe they're there.  It was pretty good though.  I really like some of the Kashi stuff, especially the Go Lean Honey Almond Flax cereal.  For lunch I made a wrap with turkey, ham, lettuce, spinach, mustard and Laughing Cow Garlic & Herb Cheese in a wheat tortilla.  I didn't have a lot of time to eat it before I had to head back to work, so I only ate half of it then took some strawberries with me to eat at work.  I stopped at Human Bean on my way back to work and got a 12 oz. Low Fat Caramel Granita.  I had been falling asleep at work all day and really needed something to wake me up.  For a mid-afternoon snack I had a lara bar.  Dinner was fettucine alfredo with chicken.  Pasta from the box is cheap and when you're between paychecks it's better than not eating at all.  So it's definitely not my choice for dinner, but it's what we had.  For dessert I had the Skinny Cow Dreamy Clusters.  And today I drank about 40 oz of water.
This morning I weighed 241.8, down .2 lbs. from yesterday.

Day 16 - August 30, 2011

 This morning I had 2 pieces of wheat toast for breakfast.  Between breakfast and lunch I ate a bunch of red grapes again.  For lunch I didn't go home like I usually do so I was trying to figure out where I could go to get something I didn't have to chew a lot.  The first place I thought of was Dairy Queen, I figured I'd just get a shake and that'd be my lunch.  Well before I left for lunch I looked up nutrition facts for Dairy Queen and a medium caramel shake was over 700 calories, so I decided not to do that.  I just went to the store and got 2 string cheeses, a medium container of watermelon and a bag of the mini reese's peanut butter cups.  (I ate 5 of the mini peanut butter cups and took the rest home).  After lunch and before my root canal appointment I ate a raspberry cheesecake light yoplait yogurt.  I had read online that it's good to take an NSAID and/or pain pill before a root canal because then you're less likely to be in pain afterwards.  So that's what I did.  I drank 40 oz. of water up to this point.  I didn't get nervous for my root canal until after I was sitting in the chair and the doctor explained everything to me.  This may be TMI, but I didn't realize that the reason you need a root canal is because you have an infection in your tooth and they drill into your tooth and pus comes out.  I just think that's so weird that pus can be inside your tooth.  Sorry if that grossed anyone out, I just found that to be interesting.  Anyways, I listened to music on my MP3 player and just closed my eyes the whole time.  I pretty much napped through the whole thing.  It took about an hour and I didn't feel a thing.  He was pushing a lot, but nothing was painful.  And when they started taking everything off I was surprised, it seemed like it had only been 5 minutes.  I guess he drills into the tooth and cleans out all the infection then puts antibiotic gel or something in the tooth and seals in with a temporary filling.  I go back in 2 weeks for a permanent filling.  All I have to say is root canals are nothing especially compared to getting your wisdom teeth taken out.  It was not painful at all, even after the numbness wore off I was not in pain.  It was like a miracle, I have no pain anymore!  I've only been taking ibuprofen for soreness.  The only thing that's been really bothering me is my jaw, from my mouth being open for so long.  It's like an annoying soreness.  I'm just so happy my tooth pain is gone.  So if any of you are told you need a root canal, do not be afraid.  It's nothing.  The doctor said I can't chew on the side where the temporary filling is and no vigorous activity.  He said I need to treat this like an infection.  I need to drink lots of water, keep taking my antibiotics and take it easy.  Ugh, take it easy??  Still no working out!  I was thinking of maybe just doing a little working out, maybe a walk around the block or 1/2 a Pilates video.  I just don't want to have to wait another 2 weeks before I can work out.  Ok now on to dinner.  For dinner we went to Togo's.  I got a mini turkey avocado sandwich with mustard, pickles and pepperoncinis and broccoli cheddar soup. My sandwich was delicious.  The soup was ok, nothing like Quizno's broccoli cheddar soup.  It wasn't hard to eat either.  I drank a 20 oz. bottle of water with my dinner and had Skinny Cow Dark Chocolate Dreamy Clusters for dessert.
I weighed 242 this morning, up .2 lbs. from yesterday.  I'm not going to expect to lose any weight until I'm able to start working out.  I'm sure everyone knows if you're eating more calories than you're burning you're not going to lose weight.  At least I'm back to taking ibuprofen and not vicodin.  So I don't have to make sure I have enough food in my tummy before taking it.  So I'll be eating less than I have been.  Crossing my fingers that my weight stays the same or by some miracle goes down.  I do not want to be higher than 242.

Day 15 - August 29, 2011

So this morning, the first thing I did when I got up was call my dentist.  They couldn't get me in until 12:30pm, so I just went to work until then.  Since my tooth was hurting and it was hard to eat I was trying to find soft things that I didn't have to really chew a lot to eat.  I ate a nutrigrain bar for breakfast, which was really hard because it was kind of dry and hard to swallow.  Then when I got to work and until it was time for my appt. I snacked on some red grapes.  I was really hungry and those were a lot easier to eat.  I probably ate about 20 grapes.  At my appt. with my dentist he said I would need a root canal and got me set up for an appt. with another doctor tomorrow and gave me more pain meds. because I took my last pain pill this morning.  I have never taken so many pain pills in my life, that's how bad the pain is.  He also gave me a prescription for a different antibiotic since the one I was taking wasn't doing anything.  So as I was waiting for my prescription to be filled at Walgreen's I walked around looking for something to eat for lunch.  I ended up getting 2 string cheeses and a Zone Cookie Dough Bar.  I picked that Zone one because it was squishy, it wasn't like a hard, granola bar consistency so I knew it'd be easier to eat.  I drank a 40 oz. bottle of water up to this point.  I also was a little bit bad and stopped at Dairy Queen and got a small hot fudge and caramel sundae, oops.  For dinner I made white cheddar pasta with sauteed mushrooms. Yum!  The pasta isn't so healthy but I love mushrooms and they were sooo good!  I drank another 40 oz. before bed. And had Skinny Cow Dark Chocolate Dreamy Clusters for dessert.
I weighed 241.8 this morning, up .4 lbs from yesterday.  Also I'm 2 weeks into my weight loss journey and I have gained .4lbs since I've started.  This whole tooth/jaw pain is just killing me with my weight loss.  I'm disappointed, but I know I can do it.  I'm hoping all the pain will be gone and done with this week and I can get back to it.  It's just so frustrating.  I'm looking at my weights from the beginning and the first week I was doing really good, then the next week (when my jaw pain started) is when I started to suck.  Let's just hope the root canal fixes the pain and I can get back to normal.

Day 14 - August 28, 2011

Yay!!  I'm back to blogging!!! The last few days were so miserable for me.  I had been in so much pain I just could not sit up and type out a blog post.  So I'm going to try and catch up now.  I write everything down that I eat and I've been keeping track of my weight so I'll be able to do a post for each day to catch up.  Alrighty, so today (Sunday) I ate 2 pieces of toast, a small bowl of rice krispies and drank a 20 oz. bottle of water for breakfast.  For lunch my husband and I ordered a chef's salad and some buffalo wings from Jackson Creek Pizza.  They didn't bring the dressing I asked for so I just used some Ken's Lite Caesar Dressing, it's not the creamy kind it's the more clear kind, you know what I mean.  And their wings are baked not fried and they are delicious.  I had 4 wings.  And then I had a 20 oz. bottle of water.  For a snack after lunch I had 3 graham crackers, like the full cracker not broken in half.  For dinner I made burgers on our Foreman Grill.  The burgers were frozen, not handmade or anything.  I saw on a YouTube video recipe someone put some Laughing Cow cheese on a burger as a healthy alternative.  I happened to have some Light Swiss Laughing Cow Cheese, so I used that on my burger and added some pickles, mustard and ketchup and it was really good.  The cheese was really creamy and delicious.  It's healthier for you than a slice of cheese too because there's only 35 calories in one wedge of Light Laughing Cow cheese and I think the regular ones are 50 calories.  If you haven't tried that cheese you need to, it's really yummy.  I put it on crackers too.  Which brings me to the rest of my dinner.  With my burger I had a handful of wheat thins with one wedge of Light Swiss Laughing Cow cheese and for dessert was a s'more.  And I drank another 20 oz. bottle of water with my dinner and dessert. 
I weighed 241.4 today, that's down .2 lbs. from yesterday.  Tonight is when my jaw pain turned into tooth pain.  About 8:00pm all my pain went into one of my teeth.  It hurt to swallow, it hurt to eat, it hurt to barely touch my tooth.  It was horrible.  So I didn't workout today, I laid around most of the day just hoping the pain would stop.

Day 13 - August 27, 2011

Today was my best friend's wedding!!  I got up at 8:00am to get ready and had 2 pieces of toast and 8 oz. of water for breakfast.  The wedding was at 11:00am and about 10:55am as we were sitting there waiting my jaw started to hurt.  I had already taken my pain pill, but luckily I brought my ice pack so I used my ice pack for a few minutes and the pain went away.  The ceremony was great and the reception was right after that.  The food was a buffet and there was so much good stuff to choose from.  I had a small scoop of teriyaki chicken, a small scoop of pasta salad, a few strawberries and raspberries, a piece of pineapple, and 1/2 of a chicken caesar wrap.  To drink I had 16 oz. of lemonade and a small glass of sparkling cider.  And I had a small piece of cake, which was very yummy.  It was very pretty too.  We left at about 1:15pm and stopped at the local 7 Eleven to get some Icees.  I was very hot and wanted something really cold to drink.  I got a medium cherry & blue raspberry Icee.  When we got home I cropped all the pictures I took at the wedding and posted them on Facebook, then took a nap.  When I got up my jaw started hurting again and it was dinner time by then so I ate some left over mexican pasta with tortilla chips and fat free sour cream and on the side I had some baked sea salt & vinegar chips.  I drank 16 oz. of green tea with that.  After taking my pain pill I started feeling better so I decided to clean the spiderwebs off our front porch.  Seeing all the huge, creepy spiders pop out was so gross!  I got the front porch all clean though.  I started on the car port but the broom fell apart and I didn't want to touch it because I figured there were spiders stuck in the broom, so I just stopped there.  My jaw was hurting off and on today, like it usually does.  So there were times when I felt like doing things and times when I felt like just laying there.  At one point when I did feel ok I decided to do some Pilates, I did the Total Body Pilates from Hulu.com.  I really love that workout, it's only 20 mins. but you can really feel it.  When I weighed myself this morning I weighed 241.6, which is 1.2 lbs. up from yesterday, Ick!  I'm not surprised though with the extra food I've been eating to take my pain pills and not exercising.  I'm not going to stress out about it though.  I just need to squeeze in work outs when I'm feeling ok.  I really need to get this jaw pain figured out.  I don't feel like the antibiotics have changed anything.  And I'm tired of taking pain pills.  If I'm not any better by Monday I will be going back to the doctor or calling my dentist.  Fingers crossed for a little weight loss tomorrow.

Day12 - August 26, 2011

I decided to go to work today since I got some pain meds. to help with my jaw pain.   So I was up at 5:45am.   For breakfast at about 6:30am, while I was getting ready,  I ate 2 pieces of toast and a nutrigrain bar with a 20 oz. bottle of water.  At 10:00am I had a lara bar for my mid-morning snack.  For lunch I had a Roasted Chicken footlong on wheat from Subway.  For toppings I got lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, green peppers, pickles, olives, mustard and vinegar.  While eating my lunch my jaw started to really hurt, so I rushed back to work to get my ice pack (I had already taken my pain pill), but by the time I got to the parking lot it stopped hurting.  That's what's so weird about this.  I've been taking my pain pill every 4 hours so I don't have any pain, but I still end up having pain.  Like right now, as I type this I am in pain, but I just took my pain pill about 30-45 mins. ago.  And now my pain seems to be more in my neck and jaw.  I just wish the pain would go away.  It hurts so bad and it's in such a weird place.  Anyways, for dinner I made Mexican Pasta.  Here is the recipe:  http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/healthified-mexican-pasta-skillet/e86a1cb2-a7b3-4cb7-906a-9a2d7a9c218f  I've made this quite a few times.  It's quick and you only need to use one pot.  I don't use a skillet like it says to, I use a big pot so everything fits.  When I made it tonight I didn't realize that I didn't have any corn so I chopped up a green pepper and added that instead.  I also added some tortilla chips and fat free sour cream on top.  I didn't eat dinner until about 9:00pm though.  We had to run out to the store to get a gift for the wedding we're going to tomorrow and we didn't get back from the store until about 9:00pm.  I also drank 41.5 oz throughout the day at work then 20 more oz. with dinner.  For dessert I had 3 funfetti cake cookies.  Two things that really suck about having this jaw pain is #1 I eat more to make sure I have enough food in my stomach to take my pain med. and #2 I feel so crappy and exhausted from being in pain then not being in pain then being in pain, etc. that I just do not have the energy to workout.  If I don't feel better by Monday I'm going to call my dentist or doctor because something else must be wrong if I don't feel better by then.  This morning I weighed 240.4, that's up, 4 lbs. from yesterday.  And I drank 80 oz. of water today.  I think tomorrow, after the wedding, I'm going to do some Pilates when I'm feeling ok.  That's what I'm planning, but we'll have to wait and see.  I'm very excited for the wedding, I should be able to eat healthy while there too.

Day 11 - August 25, 2011

Even though I wasn't going into work today I still got up early (6:30am) so I could be ready in case the dentist could see me right away.  For breakfast I ate 2 pieces of toast and a lara bar.  I try to make sure I eat enough food before taking a pain pill so I don't end up throwing up.  I've had that happen before and it is not fun.  So that was my breakfast and I took my antibiotic and pain pill.  I drank a 20 oz. bottle of water as well.  The dentist was able to see me at 9:30am and he tells me I don't have a tooth infection, but that I probably have a swollen lymph node.  He said the antibiotics I have should take care of that and then he gave me a prescription for pain meds.  I got my prescription filled right away because I did not want to have to deal with this pain I've been having anymore.  On my way home from getting my prescription I stopped at Burger King to get food for my husband and I.  Now yesterday when I was waiting to be seen at Urgent Care I was reading a magazine (can't remember which one, maybe Family Circle) and it had an article about the "healthiest" meals at different fast food restaurants.  I put a few in my phone so if I ate at any of those places I would know what to get.  So for Burger King it was a hamburger and unsalted value fries.  It listed the calories and everything in the article too, and I think this one was 400 something calories.  Anyways, so that's what I got for myself and I drank a 20 oz. bottle of water with that.  In case you're wondering the other 2 restaurants that I wrote down were McDonald's and KFC.  For McDonald's it was a honey mustard grilled chicken wrap and a snack size fruit and walnut salad.  And for KFC it was a honey bbq chicken sandwich and a large corn on the cob.  Wendy's was on there too and I think it was a large chili and mandarin oranges for them, but I wouldn't eat that so I didn't write it down.  Now after lunch I took a 3 hour nap, which was awesome because I haven't been sleeping lately.  For a snack, once I woke up, I had a Fiber Plus bar and a weight watcher's pecan cluster.  For dinner I made Chile Relleno Casserole.  The recipe was for mini casseroles, but I just made one big one.  Here is the recipe for anyone who is interested:  http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/mini_chile_relleno_casseroles.html  I think it turned out well.  The only thing is you really have drain the corn and chiles.  Otherwise there's a liquid at the bottom, which isn't a big deal but it just looks weird.  It tasted yummy, would be really yummy if you add chicken.  I think I'm going to do that next time.  Also, there were comments on the recipe that leftovers make really good breakfast burritos.  After dinner I drank a 40 oz. bottle of water.  Then for dessert I made funfetti cookies from cake mix and I had 2 of those with a Fiber Plus bar.  I was taking a pain pill before bed and wanted to make sure there was enough food in my tummy.  Oh, the cookies are really good.  It's so easy to make cookies from cake mix too. Just add 2 eggs and a 1/2 cup of oil to the mix then scoop it out and put it on a cookie sheet.  Easy! =)  This morning when I weighed myself I weighed 240, down 1 lb. from yesterday! Yes!  And one pound closer to saying Bye Bye to the 240's, I like seeing a new 2nd number in my weight =)  I had planned on trying to do some more pilates tonight, but I've felt pretty bad all day.  I can feel kind of normal for a little while, but then once the medication wears off I'm back to feeling horrible.  My dentist said I should start feeling better by tomorrow afternoon, so let's hope he's right.  Oh and the awesome thing today was that I could feel the pain in my abs from doing pilates.  So that means it's definitely working. =)  Another good thing is I drank 80 oz. of water today!  Even when you're feeling pretty crappy you can still do pretty good =D

Day 10 - August 24, 2011

Once again I had a horrible night of sleep.  I woke up every hour with terrible jaw pain.  Then at 4:30am one of our dogs started barking, at nothing.  Then starting at 5:00am I woke up every 5 min., so finally at 5:30am I just got up.  I ate a Nutrigrain bar when I got up, I was feeling very hungry.  I got ready for work then at work, a little after 8am, I ate a lara bar and drank 20 oz. of water with Crystal Light Strawberry Energy.  I had a Fiber Plus bar for my mid-morning snack.  Then for lunch I had leftover tortellini, but since there wasn't very much leftover I toasted a piece of bread then put some Ragu sauce and Fat Free Cheddar Cheese on top and had that for lunch too.  I had one rectangle of a symphony chocolate bar and drank a 20 oz. bottle of water.  For my mid-afternoon snack I had a Fiber Plus bar.  Now during work all day my jaw was bothering me.  I took Aleve in the morning then took another Aleve at lunch time with 2 Tylenol.  The pain would go away for maybe an hour then come back.  So after work I decided to go to urgent care.  The doctor said he thinks I have a dental infection and I need to see my dentist and he gave me a prescription for antibiotics.  I went to the pharmacy got my prescription and picked up some more Aleve and Tylenol, then headed home.  I was feeling ok at that point, just really hungry because it was 7:00pm by then.  So I made BBQ chicken sandwiches and garlic green beans for dinner.  It was the first time I ever made green beans and they turned out pretty good.  And for the chicken I actually used the chicken from a can, yes I know that sounds so gross.  It turned out really good though.  I shredded it up and put it in a pan with BBQ sauce and you never would've known it came from a can.  After dinner my jaw pain was so excruciating I just didn't know what to do with myself.  I called my dentist and left a message to get an appt. right away tomorrow morning.  I called my boss and told her I'd probably be late or not be coming in tomorrow at all.  I ended up putting ice on my jaw and took some more pain relievers and just laid down.  The suckiest thing is I really, really wanted to do Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred as my workout today.  And because of my jaw I didn't get to workout at all.  So hopefully I can see my dentist tomorrow and get this fixed so I can get back on track with my working out.  Oh Oh, I'm also looking into getting an elliptical or treadmill!  Yay!  I'll be so excited if I get one.  Ok I did remember to weigh myself this morning and I weighed 241 =(  That's up .4 lbs. from Monday.  I know, that's pretty much nothing.  It's still disappointing to me though.  Good news is I drank about 10 - 8 oz. glasses of water today!  Let's hope tomorrow is a better day and I can workout. =)

Day 9 - August 23, 2011

I started having horrible pain in my jaw last night, so I got barely any sleep because I kept waking up in pain.  I felt like a zombie when I got up.  So I stopped at Human Bean and got a 16 oz. Low Fat Caramel Granita before work.  I knew I was going to need the caffeine to get me thru the day.  I had a lara bar when I got to work, oh and I didn't drink all of my granita.  I probably drank about 10 oz. of it.  I just didn't want anymore, it was kind of grossing me out.  I don't know.  For my mid-morning snack I had a Fiber Plus bar.  Then for lunch I used up the left over taco meat from last night's dinner and had a small taco salad with the same toppings as last night and I had 10 oz. of water to drink with that.  For my mid-afternoon snack I had another Fiber Plus bar.  Then for dinner I made cheese tortellini with Chunky Mushroom Ragu sauce.  I guess Ragu sauce has a full serving of veggies in each 1/2 cup of sauce, so I thought it would be a good sauce to try.  I blended the sauce to make it smooth because Casey & I don't like chunks of tomatoes in our sauce and the sauce was actually really yummy.  I usually get the Classico brand of sauce and it's good, I just wanted to try something different.  So anyways, I'll definitely be using Ragu sauce again because I really liked it.  With the tortellini I had a handful of wheat thins and a 10 oz. glass of water.  Then for dessert was a s'more, yum yum!  Now I have some badish news.  I forgot to weigh myself this morning.  I think it was my lack of sleep and just being out of it or something, but I just forgot to do it.  So no weight today =(  I promise I'll remember tomorrow though.
Update:  I totally forgot to mention that I worked out today.  I found a video on Hulu.com called Total Body Pilates.  It was a 20 min. video and it was definitely hard.  I really liked the workout and I liked the instructor.  She's kind of cheesy, but very encouraging.  Then I also did Pilates Abs with the same instructor which was 10 mins.  I will be doing those exercises again, maybe with some Yoga videos.

Day 8 - August 22, 2011

This morning I stopped at Starbuck's and got a Venti Nonfat Iced Awake Tea Latte, which I just looked up online and it's 250 calories!  Yikes!  The grande is only 170 calories.  I usually get the Venti with iced drinks because they put so much ice in it that you barely get anything to drink, but I will not be getting the Venti anymore.  I ate a lara bar with my drink for breakfast.  As a midday snack I had a Fiber Plus bar.  For lunch I made a really, really yummy sandwich.  It had turkey, ham, lettuce, cucumbers, pickles, and mustard.  I had a handful of wheat thins, 2 rectangles of a symphony chocolate bar and 8 oz. of water with my sandwich.  For dinner I made Taco Salad.  I used 85% lean ground beef.  I added some carne asada seasoning and green peppers to the meat.  Then for toppings we had the lettuce & chips, of course, and then olives, black beans, fat free cheddar cheese, avocado, fat free sour cream and taco sauce.  It was sooo good!  I had my taco salad with a raspberry tea and then dessert was a s'more.  We have the giant marshmallows, so you can't really eat more than one because they are so huge and filling.   I had planned to workout tonight, once again, but my plan never seems to work.  I always plan to workout after dinner, but then I end up doing stuff on the computer and all of a sudden it's time to get ready for bed.  So my new plan will be to workout before dinner, then it's done and I don't have to think about it.  I really wish I had a treadmill or an elliptical machine.  Then I could set it up in front of the Tv and workout as I watch my shows.  Anyways, my weight this morning was 240.6.  So that means I lost .8 lbs. for my first week.  I would say that's pretty good considering I've only worked out once and I had a really bad night with drinking alcohol and eating really late at night.  I'm getting better with food, but now I have to get better with portion control.  I need to eat smaller portions.  And then I obviously need to workout more.  My goal this week will be to workout at least 3 days.  I'm also trying to eat every 2-3 hours.  Like have 3 small meals and 3 snacks.  I hear that's supposed to keep your metabolism going.  So I'll try that out.

Day 7 - August 21, 2011

I woke up in the afternoon today, because I was up late and didn't feel so great.  But I still had my bowl of cracklin oat bran.  For a late lunch we went to the store and got some sandwiches and chips.  I had a turkey, swiss and mustard sandwich with a small bag of BBQ chips and a 20 oz. bottle of water.  My husband was getting his first tattoo today, so we ate our food quickly and headed over to get his tattoo.  That took about 2 hours, maybe a little longer and afterwards he went to show some friends and I came home and took a nap.  I was still tired from the night before.  By the time I woke up it was 7:30pm.  We really needed food in the house, so I left about 8:30pm to go grocery shopping.  I came back around 9:30pm and it wasn't until 10:30pm that I realized I never ate dinner.  I wasn't really hungry so I just drank a 20 oz. bottle of water and had 2 rectangles from a symphony bar.  I really wanted to workout today, but it seemed like the time just got away from me and before I knew it, it was time for bed.  When I got up I weight myself and I weighed 240.8.  Which is expected after all the junk I drank and ate last night.  I did drink 40 oz. of water today, so that's good.

 I started my day with a bowl of cracklin oat bran cereal with fat free milk.  For a late lunch I had some broccoli beef and mushroom chicken with steamed rice from Panda Express.  I didn't finish all of the mushroom chicken though.  I drank 10 oz. of water with that too.  Then I headed to my best friend's bridal shower.  I had 2 mini cornbread muffins, about 10 oz. of punch and 2 fruit/brownie kabobs.  The fruit/brownie kabobs were so yummy.  They had strawberries, bananas, pineapples and chunks of brownies then drizzled with chocolate.  The bridal shower was so much fun.  We played a bunch of different games, some I've never heard of for bridal showers.  Makes me wish I was able to go to my sister's bridal shower so we could play some of those games.  Then after the bridal shower we went to my friend's house to hang out until everyone was ready to go out for the bachelorette party.  The first place we went to was called 4 Daughters, it's an irish pub.  There I had a drink called Malibu Barbie and a chocolate cake shot.  The Malibu Barbie drink was really good, the chocolate cake shot was ok.  It came with a lemon wedge, which I thought was weird and it didn't fill the shot glass.  I don't go to bars ever so I guess I just don't know things about drinks and shots.  To eat I had 2 chicken shots, which are basically like chicken nuggets with sauce on them, and about a handful of fries.  After 4 Daughters we went to Havana Republic which is a really nice bohemian bar, but there was no place to sit, so we left and went to Shenanigan's.  Shenanigan's was interesting, not sure if I'd like to go back.  There I drank 1/2 of a fruity drink. Not sure what is was I just said I wanted something fruity.  The group was heading to another bar called Whiskey River after that, but I ended up going home.  I was pretty hungry and so was my husband, so I got us Jack in the Box.  I had 2 grilled chicken strips, 2 tacos, a small curly fry and lemonade.  Obviously it is not good to eat all that or anything really at 1:00am, but I didn't want to wake up feeling hung over and I was really hungry.  This for sure was my worst night this week.  So when I weighed myself this morning I weighed 239.8, which is .2 lbs up from Friday.  And today was not a good water day, didn't drink much water at all.  It's ok, I'll do better tomorrow. =)
